Here’s the first chapter of THE BURGLAR WHO COUNTED THE SPOONS. Enjoy!
Once you’re done reading, you’ll want to order a copy of the whole book, of course. You can do so at the links below…

Chapter One Is Brilliant. The Quintessential Beginning To The Quintessential Bernie Book. Can’t Wait For My Christmas Present From Uncle Larry (via Amazon).
Ho Ho ho!!!
I want to read it but I won’t. I have pre-ordered the book and would be too much like a kid waiting for Christmas wanting to look into the packages. Can’t wait!
I know what you mean, Neil. But at least it’s only a month or so away. What has occasionally driven me mad is when they print the first chapter of an author’s next book at the end of the preceding book. By the time the new book finally appears, I look at it, read the first chapter, and think it’s a book I’ve read before. (Of course the possibility exists that this only happens to the elderly…)
The limited edition hardcover is all fine and well and terrific…but not having a normal hardcover for this just seems like another nail in the coffin of real books. I’m looking forward to reading it, and you certainly know what’s best, and I don’t want to be too much of a Debbie Downer, but it does make me a little bit sad.
Bernie is coming for Christmas! Iam locking up the house and setting the alarms. I will trap him in the mailbox and read cover to cover non-stop.
This represents a first for me. It’s the first writing by Mr. Block that I’ve read that hasn’t been about writing. Convoluted sentence, but the truth. That aside, I’d like to pick this one up when it comes out, but I believe my psyche would hound me until I bought every single book in the series.
I understand your dilemma, Brett. But think it through. What’s the downside?
