Lawrence Block: You’re all smiles today. I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself. This very morning, Nicholas Pell at Made Man called Getting Off “the dirtiest book in America.”
Jill Emerson: Oh, right. Nicky.
LB: Is something wrong?
JE: I gave him a hot interview and he went and called me a beastess.
LB: Um…
JE: The kind you keep on a leash. Which can be fun under the right circumstances, but still. Look, read it yourself:
“Fortunately, for those of us who like our literature dark, dirty and way over the top, Lawrence unleashed the beastess for this gripping tale…”

Ok here it is the 20th , I awoke early opened my kindle in much anticipation(created by much PR ) and have not recieved my earlier ordered “Getting off”. Just to be clear I am not expecting you to fix the problem. I am expressing my unbridled anticipation of which I am sure will not be let down. Here is three cheers to your most recent success. Roland
Hey LB and JE, best wishes and behave yourselves! Much love.
Thanks, both of you. Roland, I hope Kindle came through for you by now. Julia, I always behave myself. Jill? Not so much.
“This is the type of book that will have you sporting wood one moment and freaking out about who you take home from a dive bar the next.”
Jill, this book, all by its lonesome, could stop bar/restaurant/Vegas hook ups. It’s not a stretch to say that Getting Off could make Vegas SOL, and like, totally give new meaning to that ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’ ad campaign. Kit is one smart, sexy and very scary avenging angel.
