An eBook price break for GETTING OFF has led to the following exchange between the author and his other self:
Lawrence Block: There’s some interesting news about the price of Getting Off.
Jill Emerson: Ah, the high cost of getting off. Always a problem…
LB: That’s Getting Off, with capital letters.
JE: Ah, my mistake. Capital letters. I have a problem with them, but then so did e. e. cummings. You know what they say about helping your Uncle Jack off a horse. Instead of holding your breath and turning purple, why don’t you tell me the interesting news?
You know how those two carry on once they get started. Here’s a link to follow along: JILL EMERSON’S PAGE
Jill has such a dirty mind! She does make you blush. Love the insights into your alter-ego.
Was smiling the whole time whilst reading the exchange, that is until I got to the part about what the best thing about an eBook experience is, and then I grinned…wonderful repartee!
Oh, you two. I swear, you’re a couple of ladies after Jill’s own heart…
So have you considered taking Andy Rooney’s job, its obvious you have 35 min left in your day. I think your insight (is insight English humour?) would fill his shoes and it would fill in that 35 min. By the way, (adding to the reviews) “Loved them Both.” I used to complain that my favorite authors could not write them as fast as I could read them. You I’m not sure about, I’m falling behind in reading all your books, keeping up with the new ones Roland
