This story grabbed my attention right away. It is written without the vulgarity in many of the modern crime novels and the characters are well developed and well thought out.
I recommend this book and look forward to going back into the Audible Archieves and listening to the complete series of Matt Scudder novels.
Hey, wait a minute. “It is written without the vulgarity in many of the modern crime novels…” That doesn’t sound like the book I wrote. Maybe they changed it for the audiobook.
If this is true, I was going to suggest that Mr. Block should rewrite the book with an editor who will note “add more vulgarity here.” “And here.” “Here, too.” I wonder if there’s a proofing mark for that?
