It’s that time of year, isn’t it? Leaves turning, pumpkins ripening in the field, and children creeping like snail unwillingly to school. I was going go treat you to a picture of a pumpkin patch, one that puts a nice seasonal spin on the notion of crop circles, but Vertical Response furnished this properly autumnal template, and not for the first time I chose to take the Easy Way Out. So….can you reveal the original title and pseudonym?
Very nice cover art by Michael Koelsch.
It’s no secret. Charles had to make the announcement earlier than he’d intended, because Amazon listed the title for pre-orders. The original title, slapped on the book by Nightstand, was Border Lust, and it was bylined Don Holliday; that was a friend’s pen name, and I forget why my book wound up under his name, but it did. I don’t know how good the book may be, but the cover’s one of Hard Case’s best—and that’s saying a lot.
Since I’m a ‘Touch of Evil’ nut, I think I’m going to enjoy this one.
